About SRS
The Shakespeare Readers' Society meets at Treadwells Bookshop in Bloomsbury, London, on the last Sunday of every month to undertake a performed reading of a Shakespeare play.
We ask readers to arrive at 6.30pm. We aim to start the reading at 6.45pm. Please bring a copy of the play with you (we recommend the Arden) and £3 for the 'room hire tin'.

The nearest tube stations are Goodge Street, Tottenham Court Road, Russel Square and Holborn.
We read through the complete works in (roughly) chronological order according to the Oxford Complete Works (second edition). The master of ceremonies each month is a Shakespeare scholar or theatre practitioner and they assign parts to willing readers and we read aloud.
Everybody is welcome: actors, students, enthusiasts, listeners, all ages. The readings demand as little or as much as you wish to contribute. Come along and read, or just listen. We usually head off to the pub afterwards to discuss the play and theatre in general.
Casting the readings is currently on a first come first served basis. The cast sheet for the next months reading is set down at the end of a reading and people are free to sign up for a part on the understanding that they are committing to attend that reading. We ask that you give us as much notice as possible if you are unable to attend a reading you are reading a lead part in. You can contact us before a reading if there is a particular part you want and if it is available we will assign it to you.
We are always delighted to welcome new members.

she found 'Benedick' and 'Beatrice' between the sheets?"
